Open Question: Do I need a new memory card?

I have Motorola phone that has an MP3 player. I hooked it up to my computer and it didn't do anything. It didn't read it, it didn't open the E file and it wouldn't let me put music on via WMP. I have an older computer so at first when it didn't read my phones info, i wasn't surprised. But I tried to do it on my best friend's newer computer and it still wouldn't read. I went online and read that I might have to download some stuff from Motorola to make it work, and I did but it still wouldn't work. It would let me open the E file, but not put anything into it. I changed phones (same model, new phone), and it still will not work! I haven't changed the memory card from the one my original phone came with. Could that be the problem? Please help! Thank you!...
